A FAVOR OF DRUG LEGALIZATION
Drug trafficking is the illegal marketing of addictive substances to people who use them. In Costa Rica the drug is illegal and many other countries (Mexico, Colombia, United States, etc.), Condemning those who are selling these substances for several years in prison. But the proscription does not reduce drug consumption by children and young people are its main customers. The major problems that occur in Costa Rica are the marketing of drugs in schools and colleges and children who sell them.
Another point to mention is the large economic costs of government and police special teams trained to fight drug trafficking. This spending is better to assign them to other social problems.
For these reasons, the legalization of drugs is a good choice for drug traffickers and disappears to be distributed in public markets in food intake only with political requirements of consumption.
With legalization fights between parties on aspects of drug trafficking would end up with less violence, use of weapons and corruption of police and others.
In conclusion to this issue of the legalization of addictive substances I think this is a good option to reduce the problems and that the prohibition of drugs does not solve anything on still the same with death. The problem there is that people are not aware of the damage from the substance abuse services and be responsible to ingest.
The only solution is the use of these substances is to educate people and culturalized.
